1) As you may have noticed, 3-4 of the articles are available for low-res printing! We plan to continue offering a few printable articles in all coming issues of the magazine. You can still get a bound, black & white hardcopy as a gift for donating above 25 dollars, if you like.
2) We have taken out the “tea wisdom” section of the issue, and will stop this from now on. Wu De has a blog at: http://www.sagacitea.com where he will continue to post daily tea wisdom now and again, so check there instead.
3) Finally, we’d like to apologize for the long delay between issues 5 and 6. This was in part due to the exciting release of our own editor-in-chief’s two tea books, and all the work that entailed. We hope you enjoy what we feel to be a constantly improving magazine! There are some really great and famous authors that have offered contributions for coming issues, so stay in touch.
“Tea Wisdom” is already on bookshelves globally, as well as Amazon and other online sources. The second book is called “A Life of Tea”, and represents several years of work. It will hit Western bookshelves Octoberish (Amazon as well). They are both in English.
Further out, the companion to “A Life of Tea”, which will be a tea brewer’s guide, and a book on Zen and Tea will be released in 2010.
Another thoroughly enjoyable read. As one who practices more traditional meditation in addition to my “tea” meditation, I can relate to the more introspective articles on Zen and the experience surrounding tea.
I’m impressed that the Leaf continues to broaden it’s scope. It’s not just a “trade mag” or an “artsy philisophising” on the benefits of tea, it’s editors are able to offer a techincal article next to an emotional one.
Balancing left-brained content with right-brained content requires skillful means. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed.
Looking forward to a continued exploration of tea with all of you,
– Dave N.
Not Sure, friend. This last year has been a bit slower than the previous one due to other projects, including my 4 books that are in various stages of publication. That said, we have been working and collecting articles and so I would think Issue 7 should be up within the next month or so.
Issue 7 is in the works as we speak and should be up sometime within the next two weeks or so! The delay is due to the publication and promotion of my newest book “The Way of Tea”. If you are looking for something to read in the meantime, it is available at your local bookstore or amazon.com
I have finally found the way of chinese tea during a recent visit to a China town tea house in San Fransico early in October 09. I have been an avid tea drinker through out my life and so has my Irish wife. The bells went off inside as I knew I have found another pashion in my life to go along with music and dance. I have found all of the articles in these issues to be most enjoyable and they do ring my bell. The Leaf is the best read on the subject of tea enjoyment. Very much a Fan! Thank you!
