Hi, I enjoyed the points made in the article about slowing life down. They are needed in the US. Another important aspect is the decline of conversation amongst people in a non alcoholic environment. I am from CA but live in Taoyuan Hsien, Taiwan. When I visit CA I usually bring oolong back to share with my friends and family. It helps people open up and talk without being overbearing. Coffee in all its various forms is too over powering. The vibe it creates is different from tea. One of the reasons coffee is so popular in CA is it is fast and makes you faster. Too fast. It fits into zeitgeist of CA modern life. Perhaps the economic recession will slow people down enough to enjoy tea instead. There’s slow food, why not slow drink?

Your article reaffirmed that we need to slow our pace, focus on enjoying the moment and the company that we are in. Yes, even Canadians speed through their coffee breaks at break neck speed. Keep up the excellent ezine!
