This issue's poetry:

Traditional Daoist song

An elderly priest in an ancient temple
Tends the incense himself, and himself beats the drum.
The offerings he makes of course are from the surrounding
mountains.

The yellow sun sets amidst a tangle of pines;
Autumn stars shine through gaps in the wall.
Why bother to lock the tattered gate?

Now it’s pitch black within.
Quietly he sits on an old rush mat.
Mind in Samadhi;
Then he brews midnight tea by the stove’s light.

Poem by Lu Yu

I have no longing for vessels of gold,

Nor yet for a cup of white jade,

Nor for the dawning light upon the plains

Or evening sun behind the hills.

Nor yet an invitation to court

Or the life of a minister;

All I truly covet

Is water from the river of Jing Ling!
