For example, we have gotten a lot of emails about what we plan to do with donated moneys, so we thought we could address that here. We are currently saving donations up for two purposes:
Firstly, we have in our possession some Ming Dynasty treatises on tea. As the tea at that time is closer in preparation to our own modern tea we really want to get them translated. They are a bit difficult though, so we want to pay to have them done professionally. They are the perfect size for an article, and as far as we know have never been translated before.
Secondly, we have found that one of the greatest complaints leveled against Asian based tea publications is that they discuss teas that Western people don’t have access to. For that reason, we would like to raise funds to begin some blind reviews of 10-11 teas that could be sent to 25 or so participants, whose results could then be published in future issues. We could rotate the participants each issue so more and more of you could have a try. We feel like the reviews conducted by our magazine would be very informative and rewarding for readers and participants alike, especially since we are not affiliated with any vendor or product and can therefore be as honest as we like. For this, however, we need tea and postage.

Another question that keeps coming up regards the foundation and work behind The Leaf. We would like you to know that this magazine combines the effort and resources of many people, all of which volunteered. It does not reflect the ideas or work of any one individual. Every article is donated by the author and reflects only his or her opinions and/or tea wisdom. We are also open to voluntary contributions of any kind. If you think you have something to offer, in any way, let us know.

So many readers, so many interests. How about a 1st tea expo/event organized by “The Leaf”?

I would love to have a free tea tasting. I think first we need to focus on having an online tea tasting. We are working on getting some teas donated by some tea masters to distribute to 25 participants. If donations increase, we could make this a regular event.
I think the same goes for a tea tasting. We would need a large sum of money to hold it in another country. Of course, if you all come to Taiwan then we could do it tomorrow for free
In fact, any travelers passing through Taiwan, let us know and we would be happy to share tea with you freely! editors(at)the-leaf(dot)org

I know a professor who can translate your tea
documents. Please email me if you would
like to contact him (or vice versa).

I learn alot from your magazine. I reside in Lao ,they are not big tea drinkers and good tea is difficult to get. I must order out to HK,Yunnan or Taiwan,or have my girlfriend (vietnamese)pick some up when she visits home(Hue).
Really liked the story on ancient trees. Do you know where i could get some legitimate “old tree tea”?
Ever consider an article on Vietnamese tea?The french as well as the chinese and japanese have all contributed.
